VISTA — NYC: Steel, Light + Life
VISTA: NYC steel light + life 3 @ 48” x 28” hand cut glass, concrete, paint c Heather Hancock 2025
Project Overview
This three-panel artwork (48” x 28” each) brings a striking, textural interpretation of the NYC Financial District skyline to a corporate conference room. Crafted with glass inlay and concrete textures, the piece explores the dynamic relationship between architecture and nature, capturing the energy of the city in a shimmering, layered composition.
Concept & Inspiration
Designed with creative license for a compelling composition, the piece highlights the rhythmic contrast between the built environment and organic elements. Iconic skyscrapers rise alongside bursts of greenery, while the East River’s reflections add depth and movement, reinforcing the city’s ever-evolving landscape.
Material & Execution
Glass inlay and concrete textures create a rich interplay of light, depth, and tactility. The panels were shipped unframed for custom framing and installation, ensuring seamless integration into the space.
Impact
Installed in a high-profile financial district setting, this artwork serves as both a focal point and a reflection of the city’s vibrancy. It enhances the space with a contemporary aesthetic, balancing urban sophistication with organic energy.
