Art Commissions + Process
Collaborating with Heather Hancock to create custom artwork for contemporary spaces
Heather Hancock works between Chicago and Denver, exploring the pulse of the city through an urban minimalist lens, while also weaving in natural imagery that speaks to our primal connection to the earth.
Heather creates dimensional, site-specific commissioned artwork for healthcare, corporate, hospitality, and residential spaces. Her work combines glass, concrete, and spare design to produce works that are durable, texture-forward, and visually engaging. Each piece responds to light and movement, creating a human-activated experience that changes throughout the day and invites interaction.
Her aesthetic blends clean-lined urban minimalism with abstracted biophilic references, distilling structure, information, and natural forms into compositions that feel both contemporary and timeless. Commissions can draw from Heather’s established series or be developed as site-specific concepts, offering flexibility in palette, contrast, and scale—from intimate panels to multi-panel wall installations.

Commission Process
Commissioning a custom piece is straightforward and collaborative:
Project Discovery – Understanding your design goals, space attributes, size, scope, palette, timeline, and budget.
Concept & Proposal – Digital sketches, elevations, and material samples are prepared to support project review and client approvals. These proposals are developed when there is a strong likelihood of moving forward, and design time is incorporated into the overall project.
Fabrication & Delivery – Your custom artwork is crafted in my Evanston studio, then professionally packed and shipped. Architectural glass artwork arrives ready for easy installation with integrated cleat.
