REFLECT Urban Canopy

CONTEXT

Moments of greenery provide welcome contrast to the surrounding built environment. Urban Canopy draws inspiration from those experiences—where trees frame a skyline, natural light filters through leaves, and architecture and landscape become part of the same visual experience. The piece reflects the growing emphasis on biophilic design in workplaces, healthcare settings, and residential interiors.

APPROACH

Constructed from hundreds of individually hand-cut glass elements, the artwork combines reflective, translucent, and matte glass with textured architectural concrete surfaces. Subtle embossed typography emerges only as light moves across the piece, creating quiet layers of discovery. The restrained monochromatic architectural palette allows the vibrant greens of the foliage to become a focal point, reinforcing the dialogue between the natural and built worlds.

OUTCOME

Urban Canopy brings a sense of light, energy, and balance to contemporary interiors. By integrating natural elements into a clean architectural vocabulary, the work offers a sophisticated interpretation of biophilic design that complements both residential and corporate environments while inviting viewers to pause, look upward, and reconnect with nature within the city.
