new architectural project ...history in the details

I am thrilled to share a brand new architectural project en route for installation. The brief specified some representation of the historic 1904 Evans School House, designed in the Gothic Revival style. The school has been sitting vacant since the early 1970s and is now being transformed into restaurant and retail/studio/office spaces alongside a new residential tower. A set of details of the intricate brick and terra cotta on the building facade was proposed. Initial concepts in grayscale were re-worked with a color palette featuring neutral tones, warm honey ambers, silver, black, and a hint of Denver blue sky. The final artwork consists of two 4’ x 4’ pieces and one smaller horizontal piece measuring 2.5’ x 4’, all designed to connect with the historic school within the residential tower.

I’m looking forward to final pix of these installed.
